Bridging the gap between secondary school and higher education
Global ED develops, endorses, and quality-assures Foundation Year programmes designed to prepare students for successful entry into undergraduate and postgraduate study. Foundation years bridge the academic, language, and study-skills gap for students who need additional preparation before entering university, whether due to curriculum differences, language barriers, or grade requirements.
Global ED’s Foundation Year framework covers academic subject preparation, English for academic purposes, research and critical thinking skills, university application support, and study skills development. Institutions delivering foundation programmes can apply for the Global ED Foundation Year Quality Mark, and students completing accredited programmes receive a recognised Global ED Foundation Certificate.
